Over 20 years ago I inherited a lot of extrordinary embroideries of my Mother in Law. She was a heavy smoker and most of the linen the embroiderry is on has been stained beyond salvage. However I always planned on using the pieces in some way. Recently I have read about the Elizabethans like of using slips to embellish things desire bed furnish hangings ect.
