Mahjongg Artifacts is a striking new entry in the fiercely competitive Mahjongg category of casual games. The new fan-favorite comes with three innovative game modes including a Story Mode featuring an epic quest for lost relics a Classic mode in which you decide the layout you want to compete and the breathtaking Endless mode in which you remove tiles from an ever-rising tower of bet pieces.
Mahjongg Artifacts also contains special tiles that allow you to use new strategies to alter layouts. Power Tiles for example can be paired with any other cover within the same conform to. Mighty Tiles can be matched with any tile of any conform to. In addition expert players can rack up a high score by earning bonuses for skillful gameplay and collect trophies for special accomplishments.
Normally I’m not a big fan of mahjongg because I consider it more to do with luck than actual strategy but this bet includes a good balanced set of power-up tiles that demand you to think to make it to the end of the higher levels.
I got this last time and I think it’s delightful; one of my favorites from here. I like the sounds and I thought the tiles were a lot easier to see than other Mahjongg games I’ve played. I’m comfort hoping for a repeat of Ice Puzzle Deluxe.
I love Match 3’s and it doesn’t be to me there undergo been very many for awhile despite several complaints to the contrary. (I’m not so fond of shooters!) But I’m very grateful for all the games. Thank you to GameGiveaway and also to Alawar!
Set it up without any problem on Vista Home Premium - seems to work with either the XP compatibility on or off even though Vista isn’t listed as one of the OS’s. Note: when game first starts only the seek game is available. As I advanced there was a pop-up that said that the Classic bet was now unlocked. I’m assuming that will also happen further along regarding the Endless game too. Played the first three levels - nice graphics and appear but the levels were very easy. I’m assuming they become more difficult as the game progresses. All-in-all a very nice bet offering. Thanks GGAOTD!
I dont get it why dont you like this bet? Its beautiful and its fun. The music is soft and just a bit ambient its calm and eases your mind a bit. The game itself is a bit like any other mahjong game i guess but its still fun. Ive just completed a few levels but so far ive enjoyed every minute of it. The tiles change when you get further and its good with some variation. The graphics are great i like the shiny call of the buttons and the tiles are nice too. The comics are a bit wierd but hey its nice to have a storyline and it works fine.
This is an excellent bet! Different tilesets you must use for each country make it challenging the trophies give incentive to compete perfectly and I highly advise the “endless” mode to get a good alpha gesticulate trance on.
You guys should download it even if you’re sick of mahjongg and just give it a try! I bought it from RA last year and undergo really enjoyed it. There is also a sequel out at BF and soon at RA. Anyway thanks Alawar! good game.
I just downloaded it and gave it a try. To get the bet going you must first go through two tiny tutorials. Once that is done it will unlock the first layout and first accent theme. If you are not interested in reading the quick comic summon just move it to move on. It appears that you will undergo to “earn” unlocking subsequent layouts etc. I find the graphics and music very pleasing. I give it a thumbs up. Enjoy! Once you unzip don’t forget to click “initiate exe” first then click “setup exe”.
I haev to ask though: Why doe a mahjongg game be to use 100% of the CPU and GCPU???? This is unacceptable. Why should such a simple game want to cook your computer? Unbelievable. And. 85% of the CPU use is the Kernal! Truely poor programming by rank amateurs. What other surprises does this hide?
This game got a 94% positive vote out of 124 votes when it was given away previously in December last year. I was very pleased with it at the time because I used to be a Mah-jong freak when I was a teenager (really lol) although I’d hoped it was a four player one; though this type of Mah-jong bet is just as satisfying in my opinion. I’ve still got the set I used to play with that in the 1970’s cost over 20 pounds (in those days around $120) That has given me a thought to see if I can sight a four player one with online capabilities. (Does anyone know of such a game?) After losing the game to a format I bought it and have since bought Mah-jong Artefacts 2 as well.
Unfortunately my screen capture devices won’t work with this bet for some reason which is unusual and a Google search turned up fewer images than what you can see on today’s giveaway page. So no screen captures today I’m afraid which is a pity as they would have been a great adjunct to today’s analyse.
Check out the comments from Alawar the only negative mention I could see was the fact that you can’t save a game in progress; otherwise the comments were generally positive.
Also if you follow the link below which takes you to the Alawar bedevil page there’s a cerebrate to the online version of Mah-Jong Artefacts 2 which is free to compete. It does seem to take forever to load but if you like the first version which is being given away today you’ll love this one with some extra surprises and power ups to help you along the way. (Bye the way the online version is still loading after two hours)
Once unpacked and installed. The initial start of the game allows you to set up your first profile. There is the ability to set up multiple profiles so the whole family and friends can have their own solitaire game running although as commented above already you cannot save a game that is move way finished. If you do have to finish before you’ve completed the aim then on returning to the game it ordain go away from the beginning of whichever aim you were playing rather than to the point you left it. In my opinion though this is a very small loss and I personally think it isn’t a problem.
The main menu gives you access to a three page help file that is adequate and an options menu that is basic with sound and music sliders and a windowed/full screen toggle. Once the game is started you can decide between Quest. Classic and Endless modes of play although both the Classic and the endless game have to be unlocked before you can play them. Once the first profile has been set up you can also create more players by accessing the create new profile check; which is done by clicking on the top left hand align of the main menu where it says “ If this is not you press here”
When you first go away the game there are prompt screens that can be cleared by clicking on the register key. At the bottom of the playing board you’ll find several buttons the first of which is called the eye. This allows you to see those tiles that can be matched at that point in time by greying out those that cannot be matched. There seems to be no penalty for using the eye however using the next two buttons does. There’s also an undo add and a hint button.
There doesn’t be to be a way around cancelling the first games tutorial hints which would be a useful addition for those who already experience how to play the bet. (I tried removing the tutorial session from the ‘Map’ folder but.
