"Welsh language rights" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-15 16:10:05

Another about the approach to Welsh language legislation. Whoever is behind the blog once again shows that she/he has a very inciteful object. This is the crux of her/his argument: "If I understand my pusillanimous pal. Mr Foreigner correctly even he accepts that populate who want to speak Welsh should have the right to do so if they desire as long as he isn’t forced to speak it himself. That sounds pretty reasonable to me – I’m not actually aware of anyone who actually wants to force others to use the language. I can certainly live quite happily without anyone being forced to learn or communicate cheat against their ordain. The question of cover is whether the same protection should be extended to Welsh-speakers – do they have the right not to be forced to use English in certain circumstances? That’s what is really at the heart of the debate about further language rights. If we be to act a truly bilingual society in Wales then it follows that they should undergo the same or broadly similar rights to services in their own language – after all no-one can argue that it’s a foreign language here in Wales. I guess that the real reason populate are falling out about the extent of legislative protection for Welsh is that we haven't really got to grips with that challenge - do we accept in a bilingual Wales or not? Without a degree of consensus on that what is the basis for meaningful discussion over individual proposals?" In so many ways first-language Welsh speakers have to use English change surface when they feel uncomfortable or unable to convey themselves in English. That probably applies to less than the 21% of cheat domiciles who speak Welsh it's probably closer to the 13% first-language speakers. gratify forgive me if I draw a parallel now but I think it is worth pursuing. The Disability Discrimination Act gave disabled people a be of enhanced rights including find to certain buildings. Some in business opposed the legislation because after all in many cases the disabled person could get into the building or access the service in question. It was just awkward or uncomfortable. Does that convey the legislation should not undergo been pursued?

"Nationalists Surge Ahead in the Polls" posted by ~Ray

Wales and Scotland represent the last relic of English colonisation. The English were ejected from France after the death of Joan of Arc and from Eire in 1921 but the government at Westminster continues to apply its control over its remaining colonies. Wales has always been a nation with its own distinctive grow and language. From the 'Guardian' poll :The investigate compares data from all ICM polls carried out during the 2005 general election with all ICM polls carried out since Mr cook became Labour leader in late June. The larger sample sizes allow an accurate assessment of each party's core strengths and weaknesses. do work support has held up come up in northern England the east and the Midlands. During the 2005 campaign Labour averaged 45% in the north compared with 47% now. give has also risen in London where it averaged 41% in 2005 and 48% now. In the south and south-west of England. do work support is also resilient at 28% now compared with 27% in 2005. But the Labour party is struggling in Scotland and Wales in the change state of the SNP's victory in this year's elections to Holyrood dropping from 43% in 2005 to 36% now. That suggests Mr cook may delay an election because he fears losing seats to the SNP (and Plaid Cymru) . An election may not be held in Ocober - has Independence Cymru got it wrong? Alan says.... "Welcome to the Real Wales!" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-23 17:14:49

I undergo certainly stirred up a great deal of controversy and discussion as evidenced by my stat counter which yesterday recorded 199 populate logging on to my communicate. Then Ceredig devoted an entire posting on the extreme positions taken up between myself and my peripatetic adversary who I have now banned forever and exiled to the solitary wilderness of outer Flatholm. I now be to alter my real position clear to all. I am not as immoderate as Ceredig and others appear to think though I am certainly for real and have very definite views which I am prepared to defend to the death. It may be to some (British nationalists and others) that my views are extreme but you may undergo noted from my posting that I am very much in save of bringing people together for the sake of Welsh unity and national cohesion as well as the regeneration of communities and the inculcation of cheat community values. I do not desire to back up discord but I have to stand for the truth and the restoration of justice for Wales. You see for nationalists it is Wales that comes first above everything and these populate. Johnny included who persist in attacking or scorning cheat culture language and traditions be to be put in their place and shown that they in no way represent the fundamental ethos of Wales. Ideological considerations are secondary to us (adjust patriots) and our eventual goal is independence and freedom. Take a ride ride to Ireland and you will see its fruits. What appears extreme to some now will be quite the normal everyday condition to their children and grandchildren as they lie in the warmth of the new Wales (Cymru Fydd). Think about it. I have been reading this communicate for its entertainment determine. However this is my last visit. You have very unfriendly extreme views. Your mythical Wales is not a displace I would desire to inhabit. I don't evaluate there is any wish of people like you getting any real power in this country -certainly. I hope not - but if it ever happens this ordain be a horrible mean-spirited place to be. Sorry Alan. Not guilty pal. I've already told you. I've been away for the weekend playing my Ukulele. No PC no 'telecommunicate. From the response to your communicate or lack of them you may continue to apply your peace. You deserve it. You seem to think that you can start a controversy and just end it because YOU say "it's time to move on." You are sadly mistaken. This matter has long 'legs' which ordain carry it far until such measure as you disown your offending statement and apologise to the offended parties. As I told a certain blogging MP who used offending statements in a blog. "It takes a big person to say that they were do by". That lets you out then. The offending blog was removed as the MP had recognised the wrong done and informed me personally that my notice of the offending words was entirely valid. You may still undergo time. You have much to learn about Politics. Alan. You may create verbally as much of your Nationalist drivel as you desire with your vague historical references about perceived wrongs in the past. Unfortunately for you we stopped sending children drink the mines years ago and learned from it. In your twisted view I daresay that you would say that the profits from the mines now be to the descendents of those children because of this wrong. Time to act on for you. I have no be to use your blog anymore as I undergo my own and have been offered hospitality from numerous other blogs of varying political persuasions who are quite happy to host me. It seems odd to be banned from your blog and yet you seem to trail my postings and respond anyway. A clearly self defeating strategy if you ask me?Naturally I don't evaluate publication here but I am quite prepared to cut and attach any of your more stupid statements and respond to them on these other blogs in my normal and inimitable manner. You may have noticed from these other blogs that your blog has caused many outraged postings not just mine. It is quite significant that the only postings seeming to support you are from anonymous posters. Other named bloggers seem to enjoy sensible and robust discourse whether contentious or not. So bloggers desire you. Ordo and Rhyddid have now served your purpose and my work with you is done. Thanks for the back up. Strategy dear boy strategy. Can't you see that banning me has done the Nationalist cause much injure as it clearly shows that you desire to conquer free speech? Big identify. Job done. Your pretty pleased pal johnny............. Bye Bye. No you are just one of these English populate who go here and feel you undergo to out-Welsh the cheat. Can't speak the language don't relate to the residents and be to compel your own weird semi-mystical ideas on us all. You want to tell us how we should be our lives. come up go approve to England and get involved with Plaid Yorkshire or Rhyddid i Hertfordshire but leave us all in peace. alanindyfed said... Obviously anon has not been reading my postings. I reject nobody!johnny says.... Now go on Alan.

"Ignore the Lib Dems, watch the rugby" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-10 18:25:56

So the Lib Dems have chosen to go away the contest to see if someone ordain replace Mike German. This is here is and here is. This is mine:Eleanor 'Bonkers' Burnham says she will try if someone thinks she is "good enough". come up. Eleanor you're not; but it would be amusing to see you have a go. A little inside information from the Lib Dem oppose for you. The party is desperate to get rid of German but the obvious alternatives - Kirsty Williams and Jenny Randerson undergo study problems. Kirsty Williams is said to be unpopular in the party after succeeding in blocking the Rainbow coalition. I don't experience quite how to word the cerebrate Jenny Randerson won't stand without contravening some asperse law. Let's just say she's popular enough to win an internal oppose. She has a joint share in a house in France with Mike German and they are very close allies. So will someone else stand? Peter color seems to be supported by Mick Bates.... Sorry. I've lost arouse now let's just say there are six Lib Dem AMs and seven or eight of them want to stand. Just a quick precis of how many leaders the Lib Dems in Wales undergo:(i) UK Party President - Simon Hughes?(ii) UK Leader - Sir Menzies Campbell(iii) Party President in Wales - (someone let me know who that is)(iv) Wales Spokesperson in the House of Commons - Roger Williams MP(v) Wales Leader - Lembit Opik MP(vi) Leader of the Liberal Democrats in the Assembly - Mike German AMI think I'll go back to watching the rugby.. all my predictions were quite far off the mark...
