Has anyone successfully connected their Slingbox direct to a PC without a router? I undergo construe the other similar posts on this site but I am no further send - here is my problem standard Slingbox. Windows XP. Tiscali internet. Zonealarm firewall. I have the Slingbox connected directly to my pc using a cross-over ethernet telecommunicate. I believe it is networked properly since I undergo 2 solid yellow lights and the red 'n' lights up when I launch Slingplayer. I can watch the feed from the SB on the pc. My problem arises when I try to set up remote viewing. I have went into the properties of my Tiscali connection and enabled 'Internet Connection Sharing' and undergo turned off Zonealarm until I get it up and running. At the end of the set up process it just says my sling box cannot be reached from the internet. Could it be something within the settings for 'Internet Connection Sharing' of my Tiscali broadband connection. What services do I be to enable in the I. C. S. 'settings' menu. I added one for Slingbox and entered the IP communicate and the external and internal port as 5001 (also tried 443 as suggested on the other posts). Is it TCP or UDP? Should the Slingbox be as a connection in windows 'communicate Connections' under 'LAN' or 'High go Internet'? it hasn't but as I said it seems setup properly in that consider. I'm reasonably good with computers but networking is something I've never had to do. I'd be very greatful for any help you's can furnish me.
