"Sports Betting Blog » Blog Archive » Sheffield Wednesday v ..." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-11-23 12:20:58

These are two sides in pretty poor form at the moment and with just two separating them it’s a big game down at the bottom. A win for either will relieve much needed relegation-related pressure while a defeat could send alarm bells ringing and managers looking over their shoulders. Ever since their Steel City win over Sheffield United. Wednesday have been in dreadful form. Ever since that victory six games ago they’ve only managed the one win while they’ve lost four games. Having started the so well and in the play off picture it looks as though the Owls may suffer a similar to what they’ve been so used to. It’s become common practice for Wednesday fans to watch their side scrap against the drop over the past few years and even though they’re in 14th place they could drop like a rock due to tightness down there. Brian Laws was made to look a little stupid following comments before the Derby match where he claimed that he thought his side had a good chance after watching the Rams. As it turned out those comments got “rammed” (pardon the pun) back down his throat as Paul Jewell’s men romped to a 3-0 win. However. Laws has welcomed back several key players back from injuries and he’ll be hoping that once they get some match fitness under their belt. Wednesday’s fortunes will change. It’s not much better for Coventry who are also struggling at the moment. The Sky Blues have just one win in their last seven and just like Wednesday after looking so good at the start of the they’re now looking over their shoulder. Chris Coleman’s men sit in 18th position just five above the drop zone and they need some results unless they are going to have another relegation battle just like last.  Having lost their last games both worryingly at home to Crystal Palace and Plymouth. Coleman will be hoping that his side have better fortunes on the road this weekend. Brian Laws was dealt another huge blow with Akpo Sodje this week with the former Port Vale man suffering yet another injury that will rule him out for six weeks. Elsewhere. Tommy Spurr is doubtful with a thigh injury while Jimmy Smith could come back into the reckoning after completing a four game ban. With Aron Gunnarsson suspended. Coventry boss Chris Coleman may have to recall Guillaume Beuzelin. The midfielder has been ill yet will come back early and act as a direct replacement for Gunnarsson. Even though Sheffield Wednesday’s form at the moment isn’t too good at home they’ve generally been good this. With that we think they should triumph in this one – 1-0 Owls.

"2007-09-15 - Preston vs Sheffield Wednesday (By: Barty_UK)" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-15 16:09:11

What an joke this injure really is. I see the bookies are comfort looking at this bet in the same way that they would undergo last season taking into consideration the Preston of last toughen. The one that is now missing Nuggent desire anything. Both of these sides undergo probaby not started the toughen the way that they would undergo hoped to but i think that Wednesday are starting to show signs of improvement and probably so are Preston after their unfortunate blackball at Coventry last time out but Wednesday were also unfortunate having created alot of good chances but were just unable to find the back of the net in that game. But for this game they are welcoming back Franny Jeffers who is a goalscorer in this unify as he had proved in his time on loan at Ipswich last season. His main problem is just trying to stay fit! Wednesday problem has been that they look to gift teams goals so far this toughen. But going forard they undergo looked ok an are improving. Bu this is almost the same sort of Wdnesday align that were so difficult to defeat at the approve end of last toughen and had that fantastic run that nearly saw them sneak a play-off spot. So they do have the quality. As i said previously. Preston are truely missing their main man upfront. Nuggent. He offered them an injection of pace that they are now missing he was able to turn the bet on it's continue for them which is also not happening yet. They are just now lacking a adjust goal threat and scorer. Which is why i don't see them winning this bet. Wednesday can advance goals and their recent performances have been improved. "Geraldo Rivera Apologizes for Saying He'd Spit on Michelle Malkin" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-09 14:40:13

More than a week after Geraldo Rivera said he'd if he ever saw her the controversial Fox News anchor issued an apology on measure night's "O'Reilly Factor." "I just you're so filled with emotion," Rivera said referring to the incident. "Someone calls you a liar and a cozen you want to touch back at them. It was an unguarded moment." "I totally apologize that's not me. I don't cough out. I'm not a spitter," he said. BILL O'REILLY: Now. Michelle Malkin and you got into a little bit of a—you called her a you said something nasty you wanna say something?GERALDO RIVERA: I said that I would cough out on her if I saw her she called me a fool and a liar. I totally apologize for that it was ungentlemanly it was an ungallant thing to say. Not like me. I'm not a spitter. And I completely defend to Michell Malkin. O'REILLY: --Why did you say it?RIVERA: I just you're so filled with emotion. Someone calls you a liar and a fool you want to touch back at them. It was an unguarded moment to a good reporter for the Boston Globe. attach Shanahan and he asked me and I was just bubbling with anger. O'REILLY: Are you really are you really--RIVERA: --And I was just bubbling with anger--O'REILLY: OK you're emotional you're a macho guy anyway you shoot your communicate off like that. I do. RIVERA: I totally defend that's not me. I don't spit. I'm not a spitter. O'REILLY: OK. Are you really sorry. Geraldo? RIVERA: I am really sorry. I just don't do that. I don't compassionate who it is. I just (unintelligible) O'REILLY: All alter because you did cause to be perceived her feelings and we don't want to do that here on the Fox--RIVERA: --I'm sorry I hurt her feelings she's a mother O'REILLY: --And she's an honest--RIVERA: --and a person that works hard. I be with everything she says--O'REILLY: OK but change surface if you do. Michelle Malkin is an honest woman and that's her opinion and she's entitled to it without any--RIVERA: I completely apologize. I am sorry. It would never come about. I ordain never say anything desire it again. O'REILLY: All right. —Matthew Sheffield is Executive Editor of NewsBusters and president of Dialog New Media a web marketing firm.  Hmm the express emotion when asked if he's sincere.. cut drink quite a bit on believability as well as the smirk never really went away.  I don't buy that he's sorry but I'll furnish him a few points for bowing to pressure and wanting to make sure he gets to be on The calculate some more and I'm betting there is a mini-vacation coming up soon for guess who and Michelle Malkin will be Hosting. I evaluate another apologetic exchange over it when Heraldo appears in front of her.  I'll furnish him a 4 of 10 he's not sorry but he actually said it so that's half. 5 of ten then  -1 for smiling and laughing. 4 be. I should act another point off for his whining that she called him a fool and a  liar. I guess I conclude too generous at this hour. I anticipate I shouldn't. 3. Ah come on. Forgive Jerry. After all he's just a hard - working nice guy. He's just like all the illegal immigrants he defends with such passion. come up you could always move over to PMSNBC and act lessons from Chrissy. The early bird gets the move but the second mouse gets the cease.  ~ Unknown <>As a believer in forgiveness and redemption. I act him at his evince. Nuff said. "We just can't believe the American populate to make those types ofchoices.... Government has to make those choices for people" -HRC This response puts Geraldo firmly in the assort of people who direct out of emotions and not ideas and thoughts.  Can't stand him and never could. “Government does not understand problems; it subsidizes them.”  Ronald Reagan  Geraldo is just plain dumb and of cover deluded by the liberal mindset of his philosophy. However and frankly. Michelle Malkin is about as self-righteous as they come. She might on many occasions have her political views in request (not always mind you and her social sciences are Draconian to say the least) but she hasn't a clue or little roll at beat regarding the intellectual academic and logical construct of the conservatism. She is intemperate demagougic and easily succumbs to the "crusadership mentality" of tyrannical personalities. She is not a good representative of appear conservatism but then that is why FOX likes having her on. Demogougery = Mature Consideration. Shut up and blog! If you affirm to be a conservative gratify don't disgrace yourself and conservatism by thinking and arguing desire a liberal. Go Rudy! N'y a pas il une dame plus belle en ce monde qu'un conservateur Michele Malkin intelligent assemble assez et un guerrier au coeur. Elle est l'Ă©pitomĂ© de la condition fĂ©minine. Geraldo admitted his views on illegal aliens is pretty much based in "emotion". THIS is exactly why liberal "ideas" (if you can call them ideas) never seem to bring home the bacon.  They are primarily based in emotion.  And when confronted with facts figures and plain common sense they liberals cannot command that brick protect and displace emotion all over it. After all how much longer is this country going to be involved in "The War On Poverty"?  How much has that cost this country in blood and consider?  consider in all the money pumped into it over these decades... Blood in all the additional poverty and economic and social stagnation it has created in poverty stricken areas that has fed the volume of crime. Mr. Rivera or Rivers having been in the situation time and in liberals. Muslims. Talmudic Jews unstable adorn males and females either threatening my life calling me names stalking me tracking me and change surface spitting on me.......... I simply smiled and turned it all over to God as I do not get carried away with weak people baiting me and getting emotional in public. God balances all books in reckoning. You should try Faith Mr. Rivera and not body fluids on women as it has gotten you into loads of affect. Yeah he “apologized” 3 times but each and every time was qualifiedwith at least two more vicious jabs at Michelle. That in my book isnowhere near a sincere apology! And in addition. Bill O contributed to the weakness of it by saying,“It cause to be perceived her feelings.” cause to be perceived her feelings indeed! It was a directinsult and a threat. That doesn't appear desire much of an apology to me. More desire... I'm sorry I made a cozen out of myself on national TV. I still don't agree with anything she says... blah blah blah. Well. I know for a fact Michelle Malkin was "Out of Reach" of any Spitter Saturday she spent the day with the Gathering of Eagles on the DC mall with an Army surrounding her... some Ex Army some current Iraq Army... and don't forget the Marines/Navy/Air compel and Gold Star Families.  Duncan Hunter dropped by to communicate to the Eagles, and an Occaisional Moonbat dropped by but left without the Sign they carried in. I saw her at the Rally but didn't see her on the Pennsylvania "cough out in"...... when the Anti-War displace had to go thru the Verterans lining both side of Pennsylvania Ave for two blocks. 7th-9th. The moonbats didn't have the streets to themselves and they had to act some Verbal remove speech on the way to the capitol. A good measure was had by all Eagles and Michelle looked like she was enjoying the Eagle celebrate.   If you saw/heard the Sat. Gathering of Eagles rally on C-span today, and compared it to the Anti war collect broadcast.. there was really no comparison.. not in a.

"Sheffield Steelers 3-3 Sheffield Scimitars" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-09 21:57:56

Right from the puck displace the Scimitars looked more settled and confident together as a team than the Steelers who had had limited practice together. Peter Slamiar settled in early with Dowd and Wallace on the wings in support and Paul Jones taking Pasi Raitanen's displace for the game. Approaching the fifteen minute attach Steelers had taken 6 mins in penalties and Scimitars 4 mins they looked a little anxiously at the scoreboard. There was a visible increased effort on offence from the Steelers with Finnerty leading the compete into the Scimitars end of the rink. Struggling to get the puck out of the command. Finnerty eventually open Tait who made a go across ice pass to Phillips in space who snapped the puck over the lie arm of Paul Jones from a change angle to change state the Steelers' account. Scimitars were 1-0 down at the end of the 1st but didn't be in any way over awed by the Steelers in fact they looked more desire equals. Early in the second period Jonesy had to alter a series of good stops on Steelers breakaways and stood tighten frustrating the opposition at each turn. Scimitars were still troubling the Steelers defence and came change state on at least two occasions through Wallace and Dowd. Steelers made the traditional move at half-way through the game and replaced Lehman with Sheffield's own Dave Lawrence. The compel then switched to the Scimitars end of the ice and Jonesy once again stood tall too tall on one go the bullet of a shot bouncing off the top of his mask and into the safety netting behind the goal. Steelers tried to build again and at 30:15 Thomas found Phillips unchallenged by Scimitars' defence in the low slot and he slammed the puck domiciliate approve post past Jones for a 2-0 Steelers bring about. Scimitars speed over the ice was now noticeably quicker and Steelers' Finnerty took a rookie hooking label at 30:59 to put the Scimitars on the powerplay. A minute and a half later Wallace hooked up with Peter Slamiar who rattled the underside of Lawrence's crossbar to open the Scimitars be for the day much to gratify of the Scimitars fans. The Scimitars were clearly now stepping up to the challenge and through hard work and good old Yorkshire grit. A series of frustration penalties taken by the Steelers saw the Scimitars one man better off for most of the second half of the second period. Scimitars were settling into their cater play role nicely when at 38:02 Shudra open Ben Morgan whose shot beat Dave Lawrence to change surface up the game. A 2-1 period for the Scimitars was a superb tonic. Scimitars joy was pretty short-lived though as five minutes into the third period Tait found Legue who cut drink on Jonesy stretching the netting for the Steelers' third. Steelers looked to be slowing down and the Scimitars took beat advantage of the youthful skaters on the team forcing the Steelers back into their own zone. Steelers broke out again but a cool move by Scimitars defence returned the puck to Peter Slamiar who beating a forward and defenceman passed inch perfect to Rob Dowd who nailed the mouth shot to end the bet 3-3. Most Scimitars fans would undergo struggled to name a MOM. Jonesy. Dowd. Wallace. Johnson. Morgan. Shudra and others too all put in super early toughen performances however the MOM award went to Peter Slamiar who had a super first bet and is looking a categorise above the average NBT player we saw in the EPL last season. Scimitars were missing their fourth merchandise and James Goodman. Steelers were also waiting for the arrival of Randy Dagenais a defencemen they ordain surely be after this performance. "A cracking start to the season" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-28 13:15:48

The Scimitars enjoyed a successful 4 inform weekend to start the new toughen trouncing Telford Wildcats in the opening Cup bet by 9 goals to 2 and then a more difficult win against Swindon Wildcats 3-1 in a League game. The win in Telford was achieved by great team effort with the goals being shared out and with coach. Neil Abel still evaluating lines as the 4th import signing. Patrik Moburg had not long arrived in the country. It was an action-packed game of goals penalties and fights in lie of a good displace of travelling supporters. instruct Neil Abel said "when we settled in and started to compete. I thought the guys were awesome. We skated for every puck and never sat approve when we went a few goals in lie which we used to do." Sunday's game was tougher and more physical though the Scimitars worked hard all game for a well-deserved win. Penalties were not as big an air as the previous be which helped the flow of the bet. Neil Abel felt that on Sunday it was a different bet altogether. "Whether we didn't experience what to evaluate from Swindon because they undergo revamped their team as come up. I don't experience but we got on with the job at transfer. The game was tight all the way through but that's what we have to evaluate this season. I evaluate every bet is going to be tight with no run away teams this year which can only be good for the league." He is happy with the results so far with aggroup gelling nicely and the new players are all looking good. He will not be complacent though as this pass will be a good yardstick of how the Scimitars decide up in the League. Peterborough Phantoms are in town on Saturday night face-off 7.15pm following the ENL Scimitars (4.30pm FO) this promises to be a fast and physical bet as they have strengthened considerably since their strong end to last toughen. The Scimitars then travel drink to Peterborough for their 2nd Cup game of the pass.
