Soldiers deployed in Iraq must be just as tired of all the far-right lies and blow. How demoralized they must feel when they realize they are hearing the same old thing from our leaders after all these years of war.
If a vast majority if the country already wants the US out of Iraq then why does Move-on be such a alter ad that too on the morning of the General’s testimony? Were they afraid that populate would somehow see something positive and needed a preemptive move to insinuate the entire report?
Robert Gates said something very true yesterday. The withdrawal of the Soviet Union from Afganistan in the early 1990’s led to the establishment of taliban and all the subsequent terrorist acts leading up to al queda and 9/11. Yes. Russia was also there without an extremely strong cerebrate but their retreat after a few years of casualties and due to guerrilla attacks by the islamic militants (very similar to what is happening in Iraq) led to disaster not only for them but also for the rest of the world.
It is sad to see a refusal to learn from the past and complete denial of the potential fallout. All these populate were stupid then (when they overwhelmingly supported a questionable war) and are stupid now (when they want to withdraw when the stakes have been magnified tremendously due to the initial act of entering the war).
All you people in you hatred for Bush and affiliate (and your desire to see some liberal in place) undergo ceased to compassionate about what happens next. Hate Bush thats your right. If you feel the war was do by go act against the perpetrators and the populate who mismanaged the war.
But in that affect why do you want to bring home the bacon for the country by withdrawing? What message will everyone the world over get if the US withdraws? That if America ever enters a war all you undergo to do is keep up a low cost suicidal mission for some measure and they will go? It ordain be a vindication of the tactics of the islamic terrorists a superpower defeated by core out dwelling savages (Afganistan all over again).
Yes al queda may not undergo had huge presence in Iraq before the war. But now that they are there do you evaluate that if America leaves they will simply sit and relish their victory?
furnish and aggroup may undergo been wrong may undergo misled and most definitely undergo mismanaged the war. But if your idea of punishing them is withdrawing in defeat to a crazed (and emboldened) enemy the punishment will not be for furnish and affiliate but for everyone in the world.
