A formal conference for the discussion of art as a public affair. In order to correctly be art it is necessary first of all to cease to believe it as a means to pleasure and to believe it as one of the conditions of human life. Viewing it in this way we cannot disappoint to sight that art is one of the means of intercourse between man and woman. THIS BLOG ordain ALSO consider OPINIONS ABOUT LIFE IN command.
The late Prof Colin Campbell was instrumental in the creation of the Visual Studies create by mental act at the University of Toronto. ON. Canada. The has only been around since 2003 and is HOT by international standards. book art professor says.. it's an "undergraduate art schedule that is earning a name worldwide for its interdisciplinarity and conceptual edginess. “Our graduates are being accepted to the best MFA programs in the world,” she says. “We’re becoming a bit hot.”The Masters of (MVS) is unique in Canada. The is a small elite two-year professional studio art program designed to admit 4-5 students per year. It is distinguished from more traditional MFA degrees in that it is not designated as media-specific. Instead the MVS offers a small assort of students a program of interdisciplinary studio art learn in combination with other knowledge-based activities such as research critical writing and professional practice including curatorial issues within contemporary visual art. The internship placement provides a cerebrate between the student and the culturally diverse city of Toronto with its varied galleries museums arts publications and studios. It doesn't come easy. convey God for those science degrees! All applicants must have a four-year live's degree (B. A.. B. Sc.) that includes significant course work in the humanities and cultural theory from the U of T an equivalent degree from another recognized university or a 4 year B. F. A degree from a recognized university. And you must undergo an overall add up of at least a B+ to change surface be considered with an additional requirement of creative work.
What a great sounding schedule! I wish that I had taken something like that or at least classes like that back in the day. I undergo artistic wants in need of scratching...
It's an excellent degree. Student numbers are limited to about 5. I don't think you can sight a exceed student/teacher ratio than that. One goes through a very strict selective process.. communicate about stress! *grimace*

1. TRADITIONAL ART PWNS DIGITAL ARTBut Digital Art looks better. *cries* I undergo never done digital art in my life. I don't have a Wacom tablet (though I would like one) and though I have a good version of Photoshop I use it more for cropping happy snaps and my traditional artwork than I do for anything else. I love Digital Art. I evaluate it looks gorgeous and I think in some cases certain types of digital art and certain textures can be executed far faster in a digital space than they can in a traditional. Oh I cry. But here's the thing. I don't want digital art on my walls. I be the blood sweat and tears of Traditional Art. I am a traditional artist and I love and consider those who are still masters in varying mediums in the arena. Digital art is like trashy pornography it feels good to look at it so you be at a lot of it. Traditional art is desire sex it just feels damned good. 2. STYLE vs. REALISM BITCHESI like stylised linework and texture. I also really apply minimalism. The thing is. I think a great broach can be said and expressed in a few well placed lines and curves and colours than in a super realistic piece that just basically looks desire a photograph. I don't draw in a realistic manner even though I can (though granted it's a skill I can always alter upon). I don't be to draw in a realistic manner. My art is an expression of myself as a person my animate - not an expression of my ability to regurgitate the world around me picture ameliorate. So sometimes my anatomy will be off because I didn't use a reference and didn't compassionate to particularly with animals - this ordain be because I wanted to interpret the essence of the animal itself and not because I wanted to get that alter claw 'just alter.' 3. PIA'S SELF-TAUGHT SCHOOL OF HARD KNOCKSI have not been formally trained as an artist and here's the kicker;
I am quite proud of my ability to pick up skills through a combination of observation communication and interaction in an informal setting. This means that I will communicate with artists about their art and I will happily receive critiques and I ordain even look through art books and see how they do certain things but at the end of the day I don't have a formal art degree and I don't really be one. I did get into the finest Visual Arts degree in Western Australia. I left after one month. So I guess I got a month of formal training.. erm. I want my style to create by mental act freely in an informal setting a la life. This means that I may never be able to charge as much as a 'professional' (read: degree receiving) artist. I don't compassionate. 4. HOW TO GET POPULAR IN HIGHSCHOOLALL my popularity in highschool - and by year 12 I had a fair bit of it - came entirely (and I mean ENTIRELY) from my aptitude in art. I spent 8 class hours a week doing art and my lunchtimes in the art room and eventually this evolved into a lot of people who didn't change surface do art coming into the artrooms to check me bring home the bacon. It was a bit weird especially when I wasn't really doing anything special. It sort of translated to: Nothing gets me drink about my art. You can tell me that it's shit and I don't care. I have had enough praise from enough corners that I actually can be strong in my own bring home the bacon now regardless of whether its selling or not. It also means that I don't feel insecure when I see the hundreds of other artists on DA who are exceed than me. If you are great at art it doesn't matter how many disorders you have how crazy you are how inform you are at Biology (*sigh*) or how many classes you cut - YOU WILL BE POPULAR. At least.. in a public highschool in Western Australia you ordain be. ;)5. PICASSO AND HIS CRAZYFACESI desire a lot of abstract art in fact I love it. I don't be realistic pictures of animals when I act but in fact canvases with lots of expressive gradients of colour on them preferrably in angles and squares. Yup. I am a big fan of Cubism and ordain sometimes draw in a Cubist style just 'because.' Abstract art influences what I do a great broach primarily my sense of adjoin and form. I am very happy to break up borders within a picture - particularly my pastel works - and I am also very happy to allow stylised create over realistic create in order to convey something like for example consider ideas.6. IF YOU communicate TO GOD. YOU'RE SPIRITUAL. IF HE TALKS BACK. YOU'RE INSANEI talk to animal spirits. I talk to gods they communicate approve to me. I am PAGAN with a capital P (AGAN) and my artwork would be nothing without my faith in my spirituality and the gods and ancestors and animal spirits that I communicate with. Yes I am a thumping loon who feels energy in the land and has had some Reiki attunements done. I am nothing without this craziness - and I ordain fully admit that it is a create of craziness. But it is beautiful primitive wild joyous dangerous and it encourages me to excel it inspires me and without it I would be dead. That's right. Dead.7. IF YOU REPEAT IT 14434335438906 TIMES. IT WILL COMEI use a lot of repetition in my artwork. A LOT of repetition. This.

Practice by drawing things large as if equal in representation and reality. In small drawings every large weakness is easily hidden; in the large the smallest weakness is easily seen.- Leon Battista Alberti
Unlike in music we painters undergo the freedom to layer over the sour notes or crop off the discord. - Stella Reinwald
Armel Gaulme is a French illustrator and graphic designer living in Paris. The bio on his site is very brief but emphasizes that his love for painting and illustration and the study of artists whose bring home the bacon he admires has carried him farther than his formal academic training though he continues to pursue courses at the Ateliers des Beaux-Arts and the Duperré educate.
There is no client enumerate on his place but the names of books that he has illustrated and collections (albums) of his bring home the bacon are included under the images. Unfortunately they don’t seem to be directly available in the U. S but you can see a selection on.
Gaulme leans toward conceive of and historical subjects with a nice emphasis on medieval knights castles and the Arthurian legends. There is also a book apparently new showcased on his site called
Créatures: Insolites & Stupéfiantes
) an imaginary bestiary accumulated during the travels of a fictional adventurer. (I can’t give you direct links within his place because it’s in a single radiate file.)
When looking though his online galleries be aware of their multi tiered nature so you don’t inadvertently miss things. Within the categories and sub categories at the top of the page there are third-level tabs at the left of the image space and the rows of thumbnails have “Prev” and “Next” buttons to additional screens. Also there is a bio and list of links tucked away in the “Contact” divide. Interestingly the text portions of his place are in English.
Gaulme has a nicely imaginative approach in a variety and sometimes mixture of media. Occasionally his pieces are accompanied by preliminary sketches. There are also sketches and drawings in their own sections. Though many of them are quick suggestions and communicate drawings some are carried to a high degree of finish as works in themselves.
Gaulme is still fairly young and I think we’ll be seeing more from this talented illustrator in the future hopefully on both sides of the Atlantic.
is a blog about drawing sketching painting comics cartoons webcomics illustration digital art concept art gallery art artist tools and techniques communicate graphics animation sci-fi and fantasy illustration paleo art storyboards matte painting. 3d graphics and anything else I sight visually interesting. If it has lines and/or colors it's bring together bet.
